Softball Recap: Pilot Point Bearcats vs. Callisburg Wildcats
Pilot Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 17-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Callisburg Wildcats. Even if Pilot Point couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Karla Garcia made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and a stolen base. Lillie Kirby was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
Pilot Point's loss dropped their record down to 3-13-1. As for Callisburg, their victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pilot Point will challenge Paradise at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Callisburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Ponder at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
