Basketball Recap: Prestonwood Christian Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Prestonwood Christian came tearing into Saturday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Ursuline Academy Bears 73-46. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Ursuline Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lucy Devlin posted ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Devlin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Lily Smith was another key player, going 6 of 13 en route to 14 points and five boards.

Prestonwood Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points over those games. As for Ursuline Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 14-17 record this season.

Coming up, Prestonwood Christian will head out to challenge Legacy Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ursuline Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Bishop Lynch at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
