Basketball Recap: Freeman Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Freeman ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They secured a 66-62 W over the Bridgewater/Emery Huskies. 66 seems to be a good number for the Flyers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

David Walter was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. Another player making a difference was Tate Sorensen, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Freeman's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for Bridgewater/Emery, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Freeman will head out to take on Tripp-Delmont/Armour at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tripp-Delmont/Armour knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Freeman likes a good challenge. As for Bridgewater/Emery, they will host Colman-Egan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
