Baseball Game Preview: Angleton Wildcats vs. Santa Fe Indians

Angleton is 2-8 against Santa Fe since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Angleton Wildcats will head out to take on the Santa Fe Indians at 7:00 p.m. Angleton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Santa Fe's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Angleton came into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Pleasanton by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Angleton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Parlipiano, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Santa Fe, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Strake Jesuit 2-0.

Angleton now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Santa Fe, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Angleton came up short against Santa Fe in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 6-1. Can Angleton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
