Basketball Game Preview: Katahdin Cougars vs. Stearns Minutemen

Katahdin and Stearns are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Katahdin Cougars will welcome the Stearns Minutemen at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Katahdin is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Katahdin was beaten by Fort Kent 65-36. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Warriors are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, Stearns beat Greenville 47-36 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Minutemen.

Katahdin's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Stearns, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.

Katahdin was able to grind out a solid win over Stearns in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 38-26. Will Katahdin repeat their success, or does Stearns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
