Baseball Game Preview: Huffman Vikings vs. Pell City Panthers

The Huffman Vikings will face off against the Pell City Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Pell City took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Huffman, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Huffman got the win against Jackson-Olin by a conclusive 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Mekhidric Jackson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Dylan Craig was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

Huffman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Pell City suffered their closest loss since March 6th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Piedmont by a score of 5-3. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Huffman's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Pell City, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.
