Football Recap: Pendleton Drops Highest Score of Season Against Travelers Rest + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pendleton). Everything went their way against the Travelers Rest Devildogs on Friday as they made off with a 45-20 victory. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Devildogs, too.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Pendleton's defense and their eight sacks. It was truly a group effort as Calhoun Mize, Michael Dixon, and Fisher Saylors picked up two apiece. Dixon also made four total tackles, which is notable because Pendleton is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 1-2 otherwise. Another thorn in Travelers Rest's side was Bradley Runion, who picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

The win got Pendleton back to even at 3-3. As for Travelers Rest, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Pendleton will head out on the road to challenge Walhalla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Razorbacks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Travelers Rest, they will welcome Daniel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Devildogs surely won't give up without a fight.
