Baseball Game Preview: Timpanogos Timberwolves vs. Crimson Cliffs Mustangs

The Timpanogos Timberwolves will take on the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timpanogos will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Timpanogos is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over Park City.

Jackson Sotelo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Cooper Hawkes was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Crimson Cliffs faced Desert Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Mustangs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Thunder a 2-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Not much got past MADDEN SMITH, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Desert Hills off the board. SMITH has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

Timpanogos' victory bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Crimson Cliffs, their win bumped their record up to 19-8.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Timpanogos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .387. However, it's not like Crimson Cliffs struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Timpanogos couldn't quite finish off Crimson Cliffs when the teams last played back in March and fell 4-2. Can the Timberwolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
