Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sayre). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Paul Laurence Dunbar Bulldogs 90-50. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win (which was Sayre's third in a row) raised their record to 9-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Paul Laurence Dunbar, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Sayre will face off against Scott County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Sayre knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Scott County likes a good challenge. As for Paul Laurence Dunbar, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-53 loss against Garrard County on the 18th.
