Recap: Corning-Painted Post Hawks vs. Johnson City Wildcats
The Corning-Painted Post Hawks pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Johnson City at home by a decisive 78-63 margin. Corning-Painted Post was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Johnson City apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Johnson City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tameem Abdul 'qahhar, who scored 18 points along with six assists and three steals. The contest was Abdul 'qahhar's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Felix Morales, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Corning-Painted Post's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Johnson City, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Corning-Painted Post will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McQuaid Jesuit at 2:00 p.m. on January 14, 2024. As for Johnson City, they will head out on the road to face off against Maine-Endwell at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
