Basketball Game Preview: Riverdale Chieftains vs. Boscobel Bulldogs

Riverdale and Boscobel are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Riverdale Chieftains will be playing at home against the Boscobel Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boscobel took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Riverdale, who comes in off a win.

While Riverdale didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past La Farge/Youth Initiative, posting a 53-23 win. Given the Chieftains' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while La Farge/Youth Initiative are ranked 462nd), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Boscobel was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt an 83-26 loss at the hands of Cuba City. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Riverdale and bumps their season record up to 7-3. As for Boscobel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Things could have been worse for Riverdale, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-44 loss to Boscobel in their previous matchup back in February of 2024.
