Basketball Game Preview: Amity Regional Spartans vs. Guilford Grizzlies

The Amity Regional Spartans will face off against the Guilford Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Amity Regional turned things around against Sheehan on Monday. They came out on top against the Titans by a score of 71-62.

Meanwhile, Guilford was able to grind out a solid win over West Haven on Monday, taking the game 59-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzlies.

Guilford has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Amity Regional, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Amity Regional took a serious blow against Guilford in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 57-30. Can Amity Regional avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
