Baseball Recap: Proviso West Takes a Loss

Proviso West extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 4-13 in the process. They lost 12-0 to the Lyons Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 on Monday.

As for Lyons, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won ten matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Lyons' part, Tommy Georgelos and Lou Ratcliffe did most of the damage at the plate: Georgelos went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Ratcliffe went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those three RBI gave Georgelos a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Ragsdale, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

While Proviso West had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
