Softball Recap: Coleman Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Coleman entered their tilt with Crivitz on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Wolverines. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 back in April.

Makenzie Nowak made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddy Seefeldt, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Hope Forner, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Coleman's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Crivitz, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coleman will face off against Green Bay Southwest at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Crivitz, they will challenge Wausaukee at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
