Basketball Recap: Ellicottville Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ellicottville had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They blew past the Cassadaga Valley Cougars 55-31. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 39-27 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ellicottville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rylan Benjamin, who to rack up 17 points and four steals. Benjamin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Cameron Mendell was another key player, en route to 13 points.

Ellicottville pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points over those games. As for Cassadaga Valley, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Ellicottville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cassadaga Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-41 loss against Forestville Central on the 21st.
