Basketball Recap: Springs Valley Skates Past Tecumseh with Ease

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Springs Valley walked away with it. They blew past the Tecumseh Braves, posting a 70-41 win. The Blackhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 27 points or more this season.

Tecumseh's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hazel Melton, who posted 12 points and eight boards. Melton is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last four games she's played. Violet Melton was another key player, putting up 13 points.

The victory (which was Springs Valley's fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points over those games. As for Tecumseh, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season.

Springs Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-37 defeat against Evansville Christian on the 7th. Tecumseh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
