Basketball Recap: Liberty Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Liberty had won five straight home games dating back to last season and Julian Soria did his part to make it six on Wednesday. The Liberty Chargers strolled past the Polk Christian Prep Stars with points to spare, taking the game 69-51 thanks in part to Soria, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Lamar Lee, who posted seven points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Polk Christian Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-46 defeat against Poinciana on the 13th. As for Polk Christian Prep, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
