Last Friday, Maur Hill Prep-Mount Academy had to suffer through a rough 60-6 loss at the hands of Silver Lake. While losing is never fun, Maur Hill Prep-Mount Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Silver Lake is ranked 52nd).
Meanwhile, Rossville humbled Pleasant Ridge with a 64-14 victory. The result was nothing new for Rossville, who have now won three matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Rossville can attribute much of their success to Camden Horak, who threw for 120 yards and five touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and Tayson Horak, who gained 150 total yards and four touchdowns. Horak was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards.
Rossville's win bumped their season record to 4-3 while Maur Hill Prep-Mount Academy's defeat dropped theirs to 0-7.
Maur Hill Prep-Mount Academy took a serious blow against Rossville in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 50-6. Thankfully for Maur Hill Prep-Mount Academy, Braiden Hensley (who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only six carries) won't be suiting up this time.
