Basketball Recap: Tyree Eldridge's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fort Wayne Wayne over Homestead

Fort Wayne Wayne and Homestead squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Fort Wayne Wayne had to settle for second. They fell to the Homestead Spartans 56-52. The Generals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 63-60.

Fort Wayne Wayne's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyree Eldridge, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Eldridge is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was HJ Dillard, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

Fort Wayne Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Homestead, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.
