The Schuyler County Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Marceline Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Schuyler County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Schuyler County fell victim to Green City and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Gophers by a score of 1-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Rams were not able to get on the board.

Schuyler County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elliot Sevits, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. Sevits has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Marceline, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Gallatin by a score of 10-5 on Thursday. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Cody Rodgers was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Roper Neimiere also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Marceline has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Schuyler County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Everything went Schuyler County's way against Marceline in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Schuyler County made off with a 13-5 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
