Football Recap: Madison Patriots vs. Owen Warhorses

There's no place like home for Madison, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They slipped by the Owen Warhorses 34-33 on Saturday. The Patriots' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Madison got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chance Penland out in front who threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also punched in a rushing score. Gavin Gault also helped out as he racked up 166 receiving yards.

Owen lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Stephen Anderson, who rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Anderson also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making five total tackles.

Madison's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Owen, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Madison nor Owen have any future games scheduled.
