Basketball Recap: Parkdale Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Parkdale extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Layla Burton. The Parkdale Panthers breezed by the Bladensburg Mustangs to the tune of 65-8 on Thursday thanks in part to Burton, who went 9 for 18 on her way to 23 points and seven steals. The game was her fifth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Youn, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Parkdale's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Bladensburg, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Parkdale and Rosedale Christian Academy will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for Bladensburg, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on DuVal at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
