Basketball Game Preview: Colby Hornets vs. Owen-Withee Blackhawks

Colby and Owen-Withee are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Colby Hornets will head out to challenge the Owen-Withee Blackhawks at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Colby got the win against Spencer by a conclusive 73-50. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Meanwhile, Owen-Withee waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Dons by a score of 55-45.

Colby is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Owen-Withee, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Colby couldn't quite finish off Owen-Withee in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 60-57. Can Colby avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
