Basketball Recap: Enzo Castillo and Philip Knott Secure Win for Tanque Verde

Tanque Verde had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 78-74 victory over the Safford Bulldogs on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-42 back in December of 2024.

Leading Tanque Verde to victory were Philip Knott and Enzo Castillo. Knott almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds, while Castillo went 10 for 15 on his way to 27 points. What's more, Knott also racked up five steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rocco Haggard, who posted ten points along with eight boards and three steals.

Tanque Verde smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Tanque Verde's win bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Safford, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.

As of now, neither Tanque Verde nor Safford have any future games scheduled.
