Basketball Recap: Hamilton Township Takes a Loss

Hamilton Township lost against Bishop Hartley back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hamilton Township Rangers fell 57-50 to the Bishop Hartley Hawks.

When it comes to explaining why Hamilton Township lost, don't look at Jael Haynes-Lee. Despite the final result, she went 8-for-18 to rack up 24 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Those 24 points gave Haynes-Lee a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexis Wooten, who posted 13 points and five rebounds.

Bishop Hartley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Meira Mullins out in front who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards. Mullins has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Nyah Banks was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Hamilton Township's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Bishop Hartley, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Hamilton Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Hartley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 55-41 defeat against Bloom-Carroll on the 19th.
