Softball Recap: Bulkeley Comes Up Short

If Bulkeley was feeling good fresh off their 33-20 takedown of Hartford Public on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs lost 25-11 to the Civic Leadership Eagles on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-0 back in April.

Bulkeley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arlianis Lopez, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and three runs.

Bulkeley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Civic Leadership, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bulkeley will head out to square off against Wilcox RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 13.1 runs per game this season. As for Civic Leadership, they will take on Prince RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
