Recap: Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks vs. Calhoun Academy Cavaliers
This season hasn't been kind to the Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calhoun Academy. Colleton Prep Academy has struggled against Calhoun Academy recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calhoun Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Connor Hayes, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Colt Layton was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and five steals.
Colleton Prep Academy bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Calhoun Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.
Colleton Prep Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Faith Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. Calhoun Academy will take on Holy Trinity Classical Christian in a holiday battle at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday at. Holy Trinity Classical Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
