Volleyball Recap: East Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Campbell County + How To Watch

East faced Campbell County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Thunderbirds fell just short of the Camels by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Camels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, East sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-19, 18-25, 15-10.

Hannah Janes paced East's offense, picking up ten kills. Janes got some help from Mckenna Waters and her 18 assists. Waters also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Karley Schuessler, each putting up two.

East has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season. As for Campbell County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.

East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Central on the 15th. As for Campbell County, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against South on the 17th.
