Baseball Recap: Lake Cormorant Has No Trouble Against West Point

Lake Cormorant was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against West Point on Tuesday. Lake Cormorant put the hurt on the West Point Green Wave with a sharp 11-1 victory. With that win, Lake Cormorant brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Michael Callahan was a standout: he scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of O'Ryan Bass, who scored four runs and stole Three bases.

Lake Cormorant is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. West Point dropped their record down to 6-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Lake Cormorant will host Grenada at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for West Point, they will take on Marshall Academy in a tournament on Wednesday. Marshall Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
