Basketball Recap: Lely's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

If Golden Gate wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lely, they should've done a better job of containing Fara Louissaint. The Lely Trojans walked away with a 41-32 win over the Golden Gate Titans on Wednesday thanks in part to Louissaint, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Poling, who posted six points and eight rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Lely moved to 4-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Golden Gate, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Lely didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-15 win against Immokalee on the 13th. As for Golden Gate, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-34 defeat against Naples on the 13th.
