Baseball Recap: Viera Takes a Loss

Viera came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-0 to Spruce Creek. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Spruce Creek this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 back in March.

Viera's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Spruce Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-2 record this season.

Viera wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-2 victory against Osceola on the 14th. As for Spruce Creek, they will square off against West Port at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks are facing the Wolf Pack at the right time seeing as the Wolf Pack are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
