Liberty entered their tilt with Heritage on Thursday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. They strolled past the Heritage Pioneers with points to spare, taking the game 62-45. Given the Minutemen's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Pioneers are ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Liberty's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cierra St. John led the charge by dropping a double-double with 18 points and 11 assists. That's the most points St. John has posted since back in December of 2024. Shania Brown was another key player, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards.

Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tailor Coles, who earned ten points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Coles has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maddie Cole, who scored 14 points.

Liberty pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Heritage, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Liberty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-33 loss against Rustburg on the 14th. As for Heritage, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-24 defeat against Glass on the 14th.
