Volleyball Recap: Corning Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Los Molinos on Wednesday, Corning came back down to earth. The Cardinals fell just short of the Red Bluff Spartans by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.

Corning took Red Bluff into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 23-25, 23-25, 15-8.

Brystal McClelland paced Corning's offense, picking up eight kills. McClelland really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 15. Angelee Arce controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Corning's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Red Bluff, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-7.

Coming up, Corning will take on Shasta at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Red Bluff, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Sutter on the 6th.
