Basketball Recap: Emanuel County Institute Finds Home Court Redemption Against Mcintosh County Academy

There's no place like home for Emanuel County Institute, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 52-38. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 39-32 back in December of 2024.

Several Buccaneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Harper Willis, who posted 11 points and six rebounds. Those 11 points gave Willis a new career-high. Zione Bland was another key player, putting up seven points and seven steals.

Emanuel County Institute has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for McIntosh County Academy, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Emanuel County Institute didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-39 victory against Claxton on the 29th. McIntosh County Academy has also already played their next matchup, a 45-24 loss against Portal on the 31st.
