Softball Game Preview: West Mifflin Titans vs. Seton LaSalle Rebels

The West Mifflin Titans will challenge the Seton LaSalle Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Seton LaSalle took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on West Mifflin, who comes in off a win.

West Mifflin's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Serra Catholic with a sharp 6-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Not much got past RYLIE DOBNAK, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Serra Catholic off the board. DOBNAK has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, West Mifflin's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was KALEIGH TATTERS, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another was BREEZY DOBNAK, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Meanwhile, Seton LaSalle had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against Peters Township, falling 10-3. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

West Mifflin now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Seton LaSalle, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

West Mifflin took their win against Seton LaSalle when the teams last played back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 10-1. Will West Mifflin repeat their success, or does Seton LaSalle has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
