Baseball Recap: Davison Comes Up Short

Davison suffered their closest loss since June 7, 2025 on Monday. They fell just short of the Powers Catholic Chargers by a score of 6-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Carter Dirkse made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, one triple, and one run. He has become a key player for Davison: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-7 otherwise.

Davison's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-8. As for Powers Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

While Davison had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
