Basketball Recap: Giddings Comes Up Short

Giddings played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Flatonia Bulldogs, falling 76-29. The Buffaloes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.

Giddings dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Flatonia, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Giddings will be home for the holidays to greet East Bernard at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Flatonia, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Smithville at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Flatonia knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Smithville likes a good challenge.
