            Softball Preview: Ocean Springs Greyhounds vs. Satsuma Gators        
        
		
        
        
            The Ocean Springs Greyhounds will venture away from home to  take on the Satsuma Gators  at 3:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Ocean Springs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7  runs per game  this season.
On Friday, Ocean Springs didn't have quite enough to beat Greene County and fell  9-8.
 Ava Case made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Taylor Farra, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 Case wasn't the only one working in the  hit department: Ocean Springs  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 16  hits. That's the most  hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Satsuma). They put the hurt on Elberta with a sharp  22-1 win on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest  victory of the  season.
 Satsuma has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record  this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.8 runs over those games. Ocean Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
 Ocean Springs couldn't quite get it done against Satsuma in their previous matchup  back in March of 2024 as they fell  5-0. Can Ocean Springs avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
