Volleyball Recap: George Washington Takes a Loss

George Washington managed to slip by Academy at Palumbo the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Griffin on Monday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 11, 2024, but that streak is no more.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Academy at Palumbo scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 25-18.

Among those leading the charge was Jonas Milson, who had six digs and five aces. Those five aces gave him a new career-high. Wesley Guo also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

George Washington's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Academy at Palumbo, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Looking ahead, George Washington is taking a road trip to face off against Carver High School of Engineering & Science at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Academy at Palumbo, they will be playing at home against Lansdale Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
