Softball Recap: Keyser Wins Going Away Against North Marion

Keyser came out on top against North Marion on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Golden Tornado were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Huskies. The Golden Tornado might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by eight runs or more this season.

Mady McIntyre was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Keyser let Suzy Cosenza and Edie Bromhal run wild. Cosenza went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Bromhal went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Bromhal has posted over her last 12 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailynn Burns, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Keyser was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are 11-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Keyser is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for North Marion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-15.

Keyser does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Marion, they will face off against Brooke at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
