Volleyball Recap: Mercer Snaps 12-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Franklin on Thursday, Mercer came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell 3-1 to the Redbank Valley Bulldogs on Monday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 19-25, 25-16.

Ainsley Baldwin paced Mercer's offense, picking up 16 kills. Baldwin got some help from Farren Baldwin and her 14 assists. Anna Allen controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Mercer's defeat ended a 12-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-3. As for Redbank Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season.

Mercer will challenge Grove City at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Redbank Valley, they will face off against Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
