Walnut has gone 4-0 against Ayala recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Walnut Mustangs will be playing at home against the Ayala Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Walnut knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Ayala likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Walnut beat Claremont 69-56. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Wolfpack are ranked 840th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Ayala's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost to Glendora on the road by a 68-52 margin.

Walnut is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Ayala, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

Walnut took their win against Ayala when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 64-43. Will Walnut repeat their success, or does Ayala have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
