Softball Recap: Mars Hill Bible Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wilson, Mars Hill Bible was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Brooks Lions get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Not much got past Kelsie McDaniel, who gave up just seven hits to keep Brooks off the board. McDaniel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Molly Wright, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Brie Robertson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Mars Hill Bible's victory bumped their record up to 18-15. As for Brooks, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-20 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mars Hill Bible will head out to face off against Phil Campbell at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brooks, they will venture away from home to challenge Hackleburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
