"Expanding our Player of the Week program with a great source like MaxPreps will allow more athletes around the country to be recognized for their performances on and off the field," said NSCAA CEO Joe Cummings. "The NSCAA is committed to supporting and growing the high school game and giving players and programs the acknowledgement they deserve is just one of the many ways we are doing that."

The NSCAA will use results and statistics provided by MaxPreps.com to select one boy and one girl Player of the Week in each state across the country. Coaches must submit statistics to MaxPreps.com in order for their athletes to be considered, and no further nomination is needed. Winners receive a MaxPreps/NSCAA branded letterman's patch and recognition on both MaxPreps.com and NSCAA.com.

"With this new award every player has the opportunity to win. If you have a great week in play and your coach enters your stats into MaxPreps, you can win," MaxPreps Soccer Coordinator Alisa Dancer said. "You don't have to be on the best team in the nation or even be the best player on your team. This program is unique in that way: Every athlete has the potential to get recognized."

For a player to be nominated, their coach must enter the athlete's game stats into MaxPreps.com by Sunday evening to be eligible for that week. Coaches, to obtain an access code to enter stats for your team, please contact MaxPreps at (800) 329-7324 x1 or email coachsupport@maxpreps.com.
