Basketball Recap: Egyptian Comes Up Short

Egyptian lost against Elverado back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Egyptian Pharaohs were beaten by the Elverado Falcons 79-47. The Pharaohs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Damarion Clark and Will Lessar certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Clark went 10 of 24 en route to 26 points, while Lessar posted eight points and eight boards. Those eight points gave Lessar a new career-high.

Egyptian's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Elverado, they moved to 4-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Egyptian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northside Baptist Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. After both having extra time off, Elverado and Shawnee will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Elverado is facing Shawnee at the right time seeing as Shawnee is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
