Recap: Trinity Prep Saints vs. Legacy Charter Eagles

The Trinity Prep Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight defeat. The contest between them and Legacy Charter wasn't particularly close, with Trinity Prep falling 40-21. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Trinity Prep in their matchups with Legacy Charter: they've now lost three in a row.

Legacy Charter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mallory Daniels, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Daniels has scored at least a third of Legacy Charter's points. Ashlyn Kraus was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Trinity Prep has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Legacy Charter, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-10.

Trinity Prep won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bishop Moore at 5:15 p.m. on January 25th. Trinity Prep is coming into the matchup with four straight defeats on the road, meaning Bishop Moore will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Legacy Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Apopka Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Legacy Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
