Recap: Washougal Panthers vs. Columbia River Rapids

The Washougal Panthers pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Columbia River 64-60. Washougal has not had much luck with Columbia River recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Washougal's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mason Darling, who scored 25 points along with three steals, and Holden Bea who scored 12 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jude King, who scored seven points along with three steals.

Washougal's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Columbia River, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washougal will be home for the holidays to greet Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Washougal likes a good challenge. Columbia River will be home for the holidays to greet R.A. Long at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (R.A. Long is ranked 42nd, while Columbia River is ranked 55th).
