Basketball Recap: Midland Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hathaway last Tuesday, Midland came back down to earth. The Midland Rebels took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Barbe Buccaneers. The Rebels have struggled against the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Midland's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Barbe, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 24-9.

Midland and Barbe should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. Midland (ranked 143rd) will meet Episcopal of Acadiana (ranked 329th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Barbe will square off against South Beauregard at 6:00 p.m. on Monday up 150 places (40 vs. 190).
