Soccer Game Preview: Mount Vernon vs. Shorecrest

The Mount Vernon Bulldogs will face off against the Shorecrest Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Vernon's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Saturday, Mount Vernon came up short against Edmonds-Woodway and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Shorecrest was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Shorewood who was credited with the victory. The Stormrays got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Shorecrest's two. While losing is never fun, Shorecrest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Shorewood are ranked tenth).

Mount Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 10-3-3. As for Shorecrest, they dropped their record down to 9-7-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
