Basketball Recap: Castle Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Castle had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 72-57 victory over the Heritage Hills Patriots on Saturday. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Castle had a senior duo take command as Jakob Wongler went 7 for 8 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds and Aiden Meyer went 8 of 12 on his way to 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wongler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady P Reiter, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Heritage Hills' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Kress, who had nine points and eight rebounds. Jake Prior was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 16 points.

Castle's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Heritage Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Castle will be taking part in a tournament against New Palestine at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage Hills and Livingston Central will round out the year against one another at at 3:15 p.m. on December 28th.
